Pottery Bank

Pottery is one of the most important archaeological data that is found sufficiently in ancient sites and plays an important role in the study of cultural communication, cartography, faith beliefs, routine life and thought of societies and humans. Pottery has also emerged as a factor to transfer concepts that arose as a result of changes in the past, and the most indicative of all human works expresses the artistic concepts of each period by its rich forms and decorations.

Due to decades of studies and archaeological survey in Pasargad area, a large amount of pottery was obtained from historic sites that were not kept in qualified shape. These pottery are mostly related to archaeological excavation in tang-e Boulaghi by Iranian and foreign groups. This activity began in May 2018 and nearly 1000 boxes of cultural materials including pottery, objects (clay, metal, and stone), stone tools, brick and stone, bone and other cultural materials were studied.
In this program, cultural museum materials and specialty objects were also listed. The organization of pottery and cultural materials was a scientific and methodological work in the conservation and maintenance of cultural data, which, apart from standard conservation, conducting studies and improving access to the pottery and other cultural materials.
